Idea 01

Radiation is everywhere

Soil, stone, food, the sun and your own body all emit small amounts of ionising radiation. A normal day gives you roughly 8 microsieverts (µSv) with no effect on your health.

Idea 02

Dose is what matters

It is not the word 'radiation' that harms, it is the dose and how quickly you receive it. A dental X-ray is about half a day of nature; a CT scan is a few years of it.

Idea 03

Detectors read the spectrum

Every isotope emits energy at its own fingerprint. A counter only hears loudness; a spectrum-reading detector hears the note, so bananas never get mistaken for a threat.
